Director of Education

ACE Training is a leading registered training organisation (RTO), providing civil construction courses to employees and jobseekers in Victoria. With some of the highest completion rates in the industry and a brand known for high-quality training, ACE operates across four campuses – Sale, Traralgon, Bendigo, and Ballarat.

ACE was recently acquired by professional investors and has plans to grow rapidly. We are looking for an ambitious senior manager to run the core and largest part of our business – training.

The role

As Director of Education, you will own the training program at ACE. You will oversee a team of trainers across multiple locations in Victoria, equipping them to provide best-in-class instruction to our students. You will play a crucial role in preparing our team and systems for scale, and you will work in tandem with the CEO to strategise, plan, develop, and execute training frameworks as we grow.

Key responsibilities:

  • Recruit and retain top-notch trainers to our team across four locations in regional Victoria.
  • Manage a team of 35 trainers (going on 100) to ensure best-in-class service to our students.
  • Upskill the team through development programs, both internal and external.
  • Seek and act on opportunities for process and quality improvement.
  • Develop and implement industry-leading curriculum that equips our students to excel in the workforce.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Director of Compliance to make company-level decisions, including budgeting and expansion plans.
  • Ensure compliance across the organisation to all RTO and professional standards (ASQA, CRICOS, DESE, VET, RTO, etc.).
  • Protect the company’s financial wellbeing by fully utilising its most important assets, the trainers.
  • Maintain accreditation of all courses offered.
  • Create and develop a culture of high quality, safety, and accountability.

Business Development & Marketing Officer (Regional)

ACE Training is a leading registered training organisation (RTO), providing Civil Construction courses to employees and jobseekers in Victoria. We also provide High Risk Work & Heavy Vehicle licensing (via WorkSafe and Vic Roads), and a broad range of industry specific training, Verification of Competency (VOC) and bespoke training to our industry-based clients. With some of the highest completion rates in the industry and a brand known for high-quality training, ACE operates across four campuses – Ballarat & Bendigo (Western), Sale & Traralgon (Eastern).

ACE was recently acquired by professional investors and has plans to grow rapidly. We are now looking two ambitious Business Development & Marketing Officers (BDMO) for our Western and Eastern regions, The BDMO will be responsible for seeking out prospective business opportunities (student enrolments) for the RTO, providing exceptional service to existing clients and building positive working relationships with new clients.

The role

As the regional Business Development & Marketing Officer, you will cover a specific geographical area which will include several RTO locations and associated clientele. You will win new business, develop existing relationships, provide support to clients when enrolling into/ attending training and take on the marketing of the ACE brand regionally.

BDMO’s will work collaboratively with relevant Branch Managers and administration staff, and ACE Trainings senior management/ leadership team to achieve the overall strategic goals of the organisation. Networking, open days, end to end sales, and a real passion for the services we offer, and the positive effect we have on our clients’ futures, will be your mantra.

Key responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities for the RTO’s programs across a defined regional footprint
  • Meet sales targets set by the Senior Leadership Team in collaboration with the relevant Branch Manager(s).
  • Monitor and report on the status of sales campaigns and sales target achievement
  • Convert marketing interest from campaigns into leads and then sales (enrolments).
  • Respond to client enquiries in a timely manner
  • Ensure student enrolment documentation is completed accurately and submitted in-line with company protocols.
  • Prepare and present proposals to existing and prospective clients.
  • Represent ACE Training during networking and industry events to ensure currency with training developments, market needs and raise brand awareness.
  • Ensure all sales & marketing activities comply with RTO and professional standards (ASQA/ RTO Standards 2015, HES/DET, DESG, WorkSafe Vic, Vic Roads etc.).

About yourself

We are looking for an experienced RTO Sales and Marketing professional, with a proven track record within a sales and marketing environment. A self-starting go getter with great networking skills and a commitment to quality in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

You may be a great fit it you have the following

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Implementing new sales plans and advertising
  • Relationship building mindset and the ability to anticipate new marketing opportunities
  • Hunger to exceed targets and deliver profitable outcomes

The role

As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operational activities within a training centre and its associated locations, aligned with priority industry sectors. The position is accountable for providing local leadership and management of a designated group of permanent and casual training and administration staff, delivering training programs linked to the designated training Centre(s).

Branch Managers have primary accountability for the quality of their centres training delivery, positive student, and customer outcomes, building a high performing and accountable team and achievement of financial targets. In addition, the position will work collaboratively with other Branch Managers and ACE’s senior management/ leadership team to achieve the overall strategic goals of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of trainers and local resources to ensure best-in-class service to our students.
  • Manage, monitor, and report on budgets and lead a culture of business growth.
  • Actively monitor student progress with trainers and implement actions to increase student retention and completion rates.
  • Manage and drive a culture of high quality, safety, and accountability.
  • Contribute to the professional development and upskilling of the team, in collaboration with the senior management team.

The Role

The position can be full-time or flexible hours and days that suit you. We have a range of days available for teaching between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Weekend work may also be available.

About yourself

Deliver engaging and relevant training & assessment services (combined theory and practical activities)

  • Ensure content and delivery of accredited courses meets ASQA/ RTO Standards and other applicable regulations (i.e. HSE/DET, WorkSafe & VicRoads)
  • Supervise students’ behaviours and provide engaging and motivating training
  • Maintain equipment, training venues and training aids to ensure they are serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe for operation
  • Travel may be required to deliver training offsite or at our regional locations
  • Perform other general duties as required

  • Recent work experience within the building, construction/ civil/ transport industries
  • Be eligible to obtain a Working Children Check Card 
  • Awarded Statements of Attainment or qualifications equivalent to Certificate III in Construction/ Transport & Logistics (desirable)
  • Be accredited by WorkSafe/ VicRoads (or ability to gain accreditation, if applicable)
  • Be able to complete/ submit a detailed pre-employment Trainer Skills Matrix (TSM)

We know that Trainers and Assessors do not grow on trees. ACE Training want to “grow their own” educators of the future and may consider supporting you through a cadetship model. You could be working as a trainer, under the supervision of a qualified Trainer & Assessor, whilst you work towards your Cert IV TAE40116 Training & Assessment.

To be considered for this programme, you would need to:

  • attend a successful interview with our Chief Training Officer
  • complete a detailed Trainer Skills Matrix (for the units you will be training)
  • complete one of the following Skill Sets (at your expense):
    • TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer—Presenting Skill Set (or its successor)
