In this course, our experienced instructors will equip you to do the following:
Become a qualified spotter with ACE Training.
Our qualified instructors will prepare you with the skills needed to be an efficient spotter. A spotter is essential in ensuring safety in the workplace. With the proper training, you can perform your task as a spotter with confidence and ease. ACE Training will train you as a spotter following WorkSafe Victoria guidelines.
Please note that a spotter must hold a certificate of competency or a current WorkSafe high risk licence for the plant or equipment that they intend on spotting for. A trained Dogman or Rigger may act as a spotter for any type of plant without holding a ticket or demonstrating competence and experience for that piece of plant.
It should also be noted that a Spotter is required for each item of plant or equipment operating in the vicinity of overhead electrical lines on any work site.
Enrol today. Contact us for enterprise solutions or offsite training.
ACE Training will deliver the training through classroom instruction and in realistic learning environments. Successful students who pass the assessment by our qualified assessor will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the VU23165 unit, which, combined with the HLTAID011 unit, form part of the 22597VIC Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets.
ACE Training’s qualified assessors will assess the participants’ competence through a series of verbal and written questions and practical demonstrations. A full course overview will be provided upon completion of the enrolment process.
ACE Training has reviewed the structure and delivery of this unit and determined that Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not offered for this course.
Due to the short duration of the program, the time and effort required for a student to gather sufficient evidence and complete a formal RPL application is likely to exceed the time it would take to complete the training and assessment. In addition, the RTO resources required to assess and validate RPL applications for this course make the process not viable or efficient in this context.
This decision aligns with the guidance outlined in the Outcome Standards Policy Guidance (Standards for RTOs 2025), which recognises that RPL may not be appropriate or practical in all circumstances.
ACE Training is committed to transparency and fairness. Information regarding RPL is also available in our Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy, which is available on our resources page. In addition, our administrative team is available to discuss this with students upon request.
