TLILIC0023 - Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes)

This course will allow you to operate a mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) up to 60 tonnes. If you have an active dogging licence, you can enrol in this course and train with the best crane operators in the industry. At the end of the course, you will be issued a WorkSafe notice of assessment (NOA) to apply for your job as a crane operator.

Course details

ACE Training will deliver the training through classroom instruction and in realistic learning environments. Our qualified assessors will assess the participants’ competence through a series of verbal and written questions and practical demonstrations. A full course overview will be provided upon completion of the enrolment process.

Successful students who pass the assessment by our qualified assessor will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0023 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes). Students will also need to apply to WorkSafe Victoria via the myWorkSafe portal to obtain your Mobile Crane Licence. You have 60 days after completing this course to submit your application and additional fees apply.

Please note that this unit in itself does not result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this equipment.

Applicants must be aged 18+ at the time of course commencement
Applicants must have photo identification
Applicants must have a USI Number (Unique Student Identifier).
It is highly recommended that applicants have safety footwear & hi-vis shirt/vest

Resources

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

ACE Training has reviewed the structure and delivery of this unit and determined that Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not offered for this course.

Due to the short duration of the program, the time and effort required for a student to gather sufficient evidence and complete a formal RPL application is likely to exceed the time it would take to complete the training and assessment. In addition, the RTO resources required to assess and validate RPL applications for this course make the process not viable or efficient in this context.

This decision aligns with the guidance outlined in the Outcome Standards Policy Guidance (Standards for RTOs 2025), which recognises that RPL may not be appropriate or practical in all circumstances.
