CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding basic level

A certified scaffolder has to meet the National Standards for Licencing Persons Performing High-Risk Work. This course is conducted by our affiliated partner, MultiSkills Training. Their trainers can help you obtain the certification to perform scaffolding jobs such as install and dismantle cantilevered material hoists (up to 500kg), gin wheels, safety nets, static lines, and mobile scaffolds.

Course details

MultiSkills Training will deliver the training through classroom instruction and in realistic learning environments. Their qualified assessors will assess the participants’ competence through a series of verbal and written questions and practical demonstrations. A full course overview will be provided upon completion of the enrolment process.

Successful students who pass the assessment by the qualified assessor will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for CPCCLSF2001 – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level, issued by MultiSkills Training. Students will also need to apply to WorkSafe Victoria via the myWorkSafe portal to obtain your Basic Scaffolding Licence. You have 60 days after completing this course to submit your application and additional fees apply.

Please note that this unit in itself does not result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this equipment.

Eligibility & entry requirements

Applicants must be aged 18+ at the time of course commencement.
Applicants must have photo identification
Applicants who are asylum seekers must be eligible under the asylum seeker VET program.
Applicants must have a USI Number (Unique Student Identifier).
Applicants must have safety footwear and sunglasses.

Resources

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

ACE Training has reviewed the structure and delivery of this unit and determined that Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not offered for this course.

Due to the short duration of the program, the time and effort required for a student to gather sufficient evidence and complete a formal RPL application is likely to exceed the time it would take to complete the training and assessment. In addition, the RTO resources required to assess and validate RPL applications for this course make the process not viable or efficient in this context.

This decision aligns with the guidance outlined in the Outcome Standards Policy Guidance (Standards for RTOs 2025), which recognises that RPL may not be appropriate or practical in all circumstances.
